Dance and
performance floors

Dance and performance floors

We've been installing dance and performance floors all over the UK from Brighton to Scotland and many places in between since 2012. We’ve worked in single-room dance schools, home gyms and multiple-room academies to school halls and colleges, and even on a film set.

There are many different floors that we can supply and install to meet your requirements and according to what you'll be using the floor for. To get the most suitable product for your requirements we do recommend that you contact us for free advice and a quotation, but our selection of floors and systems includes:

Sprung oak or maple sports floors

This is an engineered system with a solid oak veneer, with a square edge in a brushed surface and a tough sports lacquer finish which has a built-in foam sprung system on the underside. This is suitable in all environments where you're seeking a modern wood finish but with the performance of a sprung floor. It's even suitable to go over certain existing floor finishes, surfaces and underfloor heating, and it comes with a manufacturer's 25-year guarantee. We can provide samples on request.

Sprung plywood sports floor

This product has the the same design as the oak or maple sports floor but is finished with a plywood top surface to allow for a performance dance vinyl flooring to be fitted on top. This latter can be glued and welded for a permanent finish or installed as a looselay system to make changing in the future easier. So you will still get the sprung wooden floor feeling but with a performance dance vinyl floor surface. It's even suitable to go over certain existing floor finishes, surfaces and underfloor heating and it comes with a manufacturer's 25-year guarantee. As always, we can provide samples on request.

Layered sports floor

Comprising six layers, this sprung system feels amazing underfoot for professional dance, theatre or academies wanting the best-performing floor with a vinyl flooring surface. The six-layer process includes:

  1. a sheet of damp-proof membrane
  2. a 15mm high-performance foam sheet
  3. a vapour barrier
  4. 9mm flooring grade plywood, laid loose
  5. a second layer of flooring-grade plywood glued and stapled onto the first layer with staggered joints. Plywood joints are then smoothed and skimmed with filler
  6. a final performance vinyl flooring finish layer is glued and welded

Samples are available on request.

Performance vinyl flooring

These vinyls are available in solid black, grey and white, and also in various wood-effect designs. Some products are suitable for installing as a loose-lay system, while others should be glued down. The vinyl you can have will really depend on how the floor will be used and the subfloor that you have in place. Samples are available on request and we offer a full supply and installation service or you can order the vinyls on a supply-only basis.

As always, please talk to us if you’re unsure about what you need. Simply call us on 01480 598800, send us an email or complete our enquiry form.
