Commercial Flooring

The Flooring People who care

Visitors and customers notice the flooring the moment they step into your office, shop or commercial outlet. It is important to create the best impression you can by selecting the most appropriate flooring while taking into account how the area is used.

Flooring for a well used corridor will have different requirements compared to flooring used in a showroom or a shop.

In some areas it will be worth spending more for commercial flooring that is higher quality and longer lasting, depending on how often you plan to update your décor.

It is important to think of the impression that you want to give to visitors and clients not only in the colours or designs that you choose but also on how they feel. Walking on a carpet gives a much softer feel underfoot and is less noisy than laminate flooring, although this can be reduced a great deal if it is laid correctly.

Wooden and laminate flooring give a modern feel to an environment and can withstand a lot of use without showing signs of wear and tear. You would not usually install laminate flooring in areas where there is water around either in the form of spillages or steam, like in kitchens or bathrooms.

Vinyl flooring is better for those areas as it is easy to clean and more hygienic, safer too as it is less likely to become slippery when it is wet. Vinyl flooring can also be laid so it forms a border by being curved up a wall, creating a perfect seal between the floor and the wall.

The amount of use and wear and tear of your commercial flooring is usually going to be much greater than that used for domestic properties. As well as durability, it is worth considering the practical side of maintaining and keeping your flooring clean and how that fits in with the way the area is used.

There are many different types of commercial flooring available and each has it’s own benefits. It is well worth taking the time to talk to a company with experience in fitting a variety of types of commercial flooring in different environments as they will not only be able to help you to decide on the type of flooring that best suits your needs, they will also know the right questions to ask to make sure that you get what you want.
